I have over thirty years experience in Farm Business Consultancy in the East Midlands.

I graduated in Agriculture in 1983 followed by a post graduate management diploma in 1984. After three years with Sentry Farming, I joined William H Brown in 1987. In 1993 I was a founding partner of Brown & Co, a new Property and Business Consultancy and I formed Mountjoy Rural in 2014 to further develop individual client relationships and activities.    

Mountjoy Rural is about identifying and then helping you to achieve your objectives and improve profit within your business. The preparation and delivery of farm business appraisals, budgets and cashflows are all part of planning for profit, your profit, your future.

I have extensive experience and expertise in the farming sector including arable crops, vegetables, roots and livestock with overseas experience in Poland and Australia. In the UK, I have an extensive portfolio of farm business clients and I have also managed significant contracts for defra, emda and Business Link.

In addition, it is important to frame the individual business with a strategy and in places to rationalise and understand the effects of change. I can assist you with issues that may range from the development of business strategy through to issues of succession planning and dispute resolution. My instructions range from one-off consultations through to retained director; I work for families, corporate businesses and estates of all sizes and with all enterprises throughout the East Midlands.
